UncuttART
Haiti
The elusive and mysterious artist, known as Uncutt, has elevated independent public street art to a completely new level. His work is inclusive and thought provoking and it is to be observed, interacted with and consumed – his goal to actively engage minds and connect souls.
This multi-faceted artist has collaborated with many notables including Madonna, Jamie Foxx, Wyclef Jean, and Sean Paul amongst others and, in 2018, he collaborated with the Andy Warhol Estate and Museum to design the album cover for pop group #3 rd Eye Blind’s album, “Thanks for Everything”. The following year, Uncutt became a cast member in Season 2 of Spike Lee’s hit Neflix series “She’s Gotta Have It”. Uncutt’s signature work, however, is the “ProtectYoHeArt” movement. Inspired by his self-love and self-appreciation journey, the artists’s self-care message has been spray painted on sidewalks in nearly every city in the U.S. and in many others around the globe. Indeed, spotting “ProtectYoHeArt” artwork has become a viral sensation as it garners millions of views on a variety of social media platforms. The movement has further evolved into an annual worldwide celebration, numerous artistic activations, healing retreats and, in 2022, “ProtectYoHeArt” was featured at NFT.NYC where, as a kickoff to the conference, Uncutt led a yoga and meditation activation in Times Square.
Having received his degree in Media Arts from Westbury College, this groundbreaking young artist also creates using acrylic on canvas, encompassing themes ranging from pop culture to ancient tribal-inspired art. He plays elegantly with positive and negative spaces, combining various shapes to form larger images with hidden symbols throughout. And what underlies all of Uncutt’s work is his profound and unswerving commitment to engaging audiences through his art, thereby, raising their intellectual, emotional and spiritual frequencies and, dare we say, enhancing the quality of the human experience.
