John White
United States, 1966
John White is a Brooklyn based furniture maker committed to traditional American craftsmanship. John’s grandfather had operated a wood and metal fabrication shop in the 1950s and, after working as a cybersecurity consultant for several years after college, John decided to leave the corporate world and devote himself to his lifelong love of woodworking.
The artist builds each piece by hand using timber that has been sustainably grown and forested in the US. He employs classical furniture making techniques, premium materials, and simple modern design and the result is a sensation of quiet luxury.
John earned his BA from the University of Notre Dame and earlier this year, he founded Cannery Camp, his own furniture company, located in Brooklyn, NY.
